Health and Safety: We are required by law to take health and safety seriously
The Summit team work hard to achieve great results in the health and safety arena. We are proud that all Summit scaffolders have current Site Safe cards and the Working at Height unit standard 23229 as a minimum qualification – important attributes in the scaffolding industry for obvious reasons.
Working on roofs of any height requires managing hazards and utilising the relevant safety equipment to prevent falls. Summit’s practices all include the use of wider–than–norm working platforms, safety nets, edge protections, lanyards, harnesses, and fall arrest systems. Operating these systems takes skill, however, our team all receive training to certified levels and above. They also have extensive practical experience working on the tools and can supplement their qualifications with First Aid, MEWP (Mobile Elevating Work Platforms) and Confined Space certification.
Training our workers beyond basic levels of capability ensures a positive working relationship with clients, supported by our management team who are fully focussed on delivering clear
communications in the office, onsite, and with customers. Following the directives laid out by governing body SARNZ (Scaffolding, Access and Rigging New Zealand Inc) Good Practice 2016
Guidelines and Site Safe NZ, Summit consistently demonstrate our allegiance to WorkSafe NZ and the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015 covering all health and safety requirements for the erection and dismantling of scaffolding.
